Seghill Gala
The village Gala has been running since 1911, so next year 2011 will be our centenary Gala.
The Gala is a traditional village (miners) Gala, with a street parade and events held at the village welfare park.
This years Gala is to be held on Saturday 5th June. The Parade will commence at 1250 from Deneside and parade through the village to the Welfare Park, arriving at approximately 1320. At the park there will be a tea room, community stalls, exhibitions, shows, childrens sports, play areas and other attractions.
As next year is our centenary Gala, we are making an appeal to anyone who might have any memoribilia about the Gala, photos, videos, souveniers etc. If you have please contact George Arnott (gwarn47@aol.co.uk).
