Bottleworks Project
St Pauls Church in Seaton Sluice is looking to the future by partly turning the clock back in a bid to serve the wider community. The church was originally built as a village hall in the early 1900's before becoming a church in 1960's. But now plans are underway to extend the church's uses thanks to a scheme entitled the Bottle Works Project.
Proposed developments to the building include a space dedicated to the area's history, nature, and spiritual heritage, an art gallery and craft gallery with a coffee shop to be run by people with special needs, re-ordering of the church to create flexible space for church services, exhibitions and community uses.
It is also hoped that the church will be re-decorated and fitted with new stained glass windows and etched moveable screens to become a place of 21st century beauty.
We are just begining to to take the first steps of what will be a very long process that will benefit the community and visitors to Seaton Sluice.
