New Hartley Community Association 
New Hartley Community Association has been in existence for quite a number of years, with its constitution being adopted on 24 October 1975. In 1977 it applied for Charity Status and was accepted on 17th January 1977 with a main Charity Number of 505949.
Over the years the hall has hosted many activities from Wedding Receptions, Ceilidhs, Pantomimes, Stage Productions, used as a Polling Station for Local and Parliamentary Elections, Memorial Concerts to the Pit Disaster, a Memorial Play of the Disaster, Dances, Seaton Valley Community Assembly Meetings, Dog Shows, Car Boot Sales, Craft Fairs, Community Association Fairs etc just to name a few. There is a Photographic Album being put together of some of these activities and it is hoped to have these viewable on the New Hartley Website some time in the future.
The Hall also contains a modern ICT Suite which is an UK-Online site.
Currently the Association is working towards getting some improvements done to the fabric of the Memorial Hall. These improvements, phase one, will include modernisation of both the toilets and kitchen and to improve disabled access to the main hall. Phase two when accomplished will include more space upstairs with a Single Person disabled lift to the Computer Suite etc, a more effective heating system, better lighting and double glazing replacement widows etc. Once all the improvements have been accomplished the hall will be available for a more varied type of booking, including seminars, fully catered receptions, to name a few.
The hall has recently benefited from the refurbishement of the understage area with funding from Esh Charitable Trust and Seaton Valley Community Assembly. This area has now been transformed into a generous storage area with secured lockers for each group running in the centre.
